Achill Island

Have we mentioned that it rains in Ireland.  We've come to realize there are many categories of rain. Some so light the Irish might not consider it rain at all.  Then there's the extreme pelting rain where even they might don some rain gear.

Despite the rain, Achill Island was incredibly beautiful.  Rocky cliffs, worn mountains, crashing waves, and some castle ruins.  Sparsely populated it was truly rugged and unspoiled.  Mankind had not even added guardrails, lines on the road, directional signs or fences for the sheep. It was a lovely ride!

    Bud-um tish!
Come on it had to be said!

I like the categories of rain..."Hmm today is a Class 5 I do believe, light cold rain with a slight horizontal tilt and low winds."

So I assume you guys, not being Irish and immune to rain, are in rain gear all the time?

  2. Well actually 3 of us donned rain gear but 1 of us didn't....Steve can you guess who? I thought I had this Ireland weather figured out...hahahha I was drenched, had to ask the hotel to hang my motorcycle pants in the furnace room to dry them out. They were very nice about the whole thing. I wore my rain gear today, Dad.
