Cliffs of Moher

First visit today the 9th was the Cliffs of Moher, the site is free to the public, the parking on the other hand was 6 euros per bike.  Joe pointed to a bus in the parking lot, "Does that bus take us the Cliffs?" The girls smiled, "No it's a short walk."  In well known Irish fashion we began the hike/climb to the site, we needed some exercise anyway.

The cliffs were worth the walk.  We did notice that safety precautions were not quite the same as in North America, where prevention is needed to cover all possible stupidities.  Despite signs clearly warning against the risks of falling many visitors climb around the barrier and hike right along the edge. Over the years many of these geniuses have been blown over the edge with no new security added.  We think the Irish believe that you should have enough common sense to follow the warnings.

  1. Grandpa says maybe the Irish do but the Americans don't!
Also spectacular photos! Was it another 2km walk or was this one shorter?

  2. Definitely another 2km with both sides of the cliffs and plenty of stairs too.
